Do you want to produce a large amount of vapor with your device, and are you wondering which e-cigarette to choose for this purpose? We’ll explain everything you need to know about power vaping.
Many beginners are eager to create substantial vapor clouds with their e-cigarettes. However, we prefer to be
straightforward: this can be a mistake that easily prevents you from getting off to a good start with vaping.
In
fact, trying to produce a large amount of vapor also means inhaling a significant dose of nicotine. This can quickly
cause discomfort while vaping, such as throat irritation.
Similarly, this high vapor production requires direct
inhalation. This is a technique in which the vapor goes directly into the lungs without passing through the mouth.
This completely disrupts typical habits, since with indirect inhalation, it’s a two-step process in which the vapor
lingers in the mouth before entering the lungs.
In short, it’s essential to keep in mind that trying to produce a lot of vapor with your e-cigarette is a practice generally reserved for experienced vapers. It is not recommended for beginners.
With this in mind, we offer a wide range of solutions to help you practice power vaping easily and affordably using high-performance, dedicated equipment.
How to produce a lot of vapor?
Despite the details we’ve just provided above, here’s how to produce more vapor with your e-cigarette.
There are two key factors to consider for power vaping:
- Use the right equipment that offers sufficient power and an open airflow
- Use an e-liquid with a high vegetable glycerin content
These two elements go hand in hand if you want to produce a lot of vapor. However, if you’re simply looking to produce more vapor with your setup, keep in mind that often a simple adjustment to the wattage is all it takes. For example, if you’re vaping at 14 watts and your coil and e-cigarette allow it, increase the wattage to 20 watts. You’ll already be producing more vapor.
Equipment
To produce more vapor, the first thing you need is the right equipment.
Mod e-cigarettes are ideal for this
purpose. They’re designed to give you more power, longer battery life, and useful features like variable wattage and
temperature control!
Continuing with the topic of equipment, you should use a clearomizer that is specifically designed for direct vaping
(DTL) with large air intakes. Clearomizers designed for MTL (indirect vaping) don’t allow for this practice; their
characteristic tight draw will simply risk burning out your coil.
Additionally, make sure to use sub-ohm coils,
which have a resistance of less than 1 ohm. These require more power to function but have the advantage of vaporizing
more e-liquid than standard coils.
Finally, pay attention to the size of the drip tip on your clearomizer or atomizer. The mouthpiece should be wide enough to allow sufficient vapor to pass through while enabling the coil to cool effectively by drawing in a large volume of air. As a result, most vapers who enjoy producing a lot of vapor use 810-style drip tips, which are much wider than the traditional 510 tips.
E-liquid
We don’t always consider it, but e-liquid plays a major role in vaping and produces a lot of vapor. It consists of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, and, of course, flavoring. Of these three, vegetable glycerin (VG) is the most significant for vapor production. It’s therefore essential to ensure that the VG ratio in your e-liquid is higher than that of PG. Ideally, opt for e-liquids with a 30PG/70VG ratio or even 100% VG if your goal is to maximize vapor output.
Which e-cigarette should you choose?
We’ve just seen that the device plays a key role when you want to produce a lot of vapor, but which e-cigarette should you buy?
“Power vaping” is a common practice among vapers globally, and there’s a wide range of products available. At Arômes et Liquides, we offer a wide selection of compatible devices and e-liquids.
Some manufacturers have built a solid reputation in this field, such as Smok, Kangertech, Joyetech, Eleaf, and Vaporesso. They offer fully designed e-cigarettes, from the mod to the atomizer, to produce plenty of vapor, especially with long battery life, thanks to rechargeable batteries.
To make your choice, simply avoid small e-cigarettes like podmods or AIO devices. Instead, opt for the mod format and ensure your vape has a feature that allows you to adjust the power output. Whether you choose a built-in battery or removable batteries, make your decision based on how you plan to use your device.
Additionally, your clearomizer must have air intakes or an airflow large enough to properly cool the coil and prevent it from burning out, a phenomenon more commonly known as a dry hit.

Which e-liquid produces a lot of vapor?
As mentioned above, it’s important to use an e-liquid with a high vegetable glycerin (VG) content if you want to produce a lot of vapor.
You should therefore look for e-liquids with a VG content of over 50%. On the A&L website, you’ll find a wide selection of e-liquids in ratios of 30PG/70VG, 20PG/80VG, and even 100% VG options for a very dense vapor.
When it comes to flavors, the choice is entirely up to you. Whether you prefer mango, tobacco, mint, berries, or strawberry, just keep this criterion in mind.
It’s worth noting, however, that direct vaping, and especially sub-ohm vaping with this type of equipment, will result in higher e-liquid consumption than usual. Similarly, we recommend adjusting your nicotine rate, as you’ll be vaporizing much more liquid and, consequently, much more nicotine with this technique. So, if you’re using 6mg of nicotine per ml, we recommend lowering this to 3mg/ml when power vaping.
What is cloud chasing?
Also known as “power vaping” in the vaping world, cloud chasing involves producing large clouds of vapor with your e-cigarette. This practice originated in the United States and Southeast Asia, where, several years ago, vapers enjoyed modifying their e-cigarettes by adding a rebuildable dripper to produce large amounts of vapor.
