The Ethyl Maltol additive allows to add a candy flavor to any DIY recipe or ready-made e-liquid.
From the French labs of the brand Arômes et Liquides (A&L), this additive is composed of food flavorings and propylene glycol.
We recommend a dilution of 0.4% for 50PG/50VG, which equals 2 drops per 10ml of base, with nicotine or not.
It is packaged in a 10ml bottle with a childproof cap and a dropper tip
Who is A&L?
Arômes et Liquides (A&L) is a French manufacturer of e-liquids and DIY concentrates since 2012. With labs located not far from Saint-Étienne in the Loire department, it presents a wide collection of flavors from the simplest to the most complex flavors.
The brand stands out in the vape universe thanks to its famous tobacco recipe of Ryan USA of the A&L collection or the fruity mix Ragnarok of the Ultimate collection.
How to use your additive?
Its concentrate formula cannot be used as it is; this additive requires dilution in a PG/VG base or an e-liquid before being poured into your electronic cigarette tank.
We recommend respecting the dosage given by the manufacturer. You can adjust it according to your preferences and the intensity you wish.
The steep time:
For an optimal steep time, the necessary length is:
- 15 days minimum, or several weeks for tobacco and sweet/tasty additives
- 1 week minimum for the candy and drink additives
- 48 hours minimum for fruity and/or mentholated additives
Tip for an optimal result: shake the bottle of your preparation a bit every day so the flavors correctly diffuse.
According to the PG/VG ratio of your base, the steep time may be longer. The higher the vegetable glycerin (VG) proportion, the longer the steep time.
The tasting:
Once the steep time is over, your e-liquid is ready-to-be-used. It might need some adjustments.
If you find the flavor rendering too light, you can add some drops of concentrates and let it sit for an additional 48 hours.
On the contrary, if your e-liquid is too strong, you can dilute it by adding base.
To help you:
- If your preparation is too intense, you have to dilute it. Then, add some base.
- If your preparation is not strong enough, add some drops of concentrate: stick to proportions of 1 to 3% of your base liquid + concentrate(s) mix, as additives are generally highly concentrated.
- Precisely label your preparations with the date, the dosage, and the concentrates used.
- Put your new recipes in 10ml bottles but in low amounts (5ml for example) to allow you readjustments of concentrate or base.
