The characteristics of drink e-liquids
What is a drink e-liquid made of?
Like other e-liquids, the drink-flavored ones are made of propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG).
Usually, most are offered in a 50PG/50VG ratio. However, it is essential to check the e-liquid specificity. Indeed, some are available with more exotic rates, making it compatible with your equipment.
Capacity
The e-liquids with drink flavors are offered in different formats to meet different vaping needs. Here are all the capacities that you can find:
10ml - Ready-made
In accordance with current regulations, particularly the TPD, drink e-liquids are available in 10ml formats and may contain nicotine. As a reminder, here are the recommended rates based on the vaping profile:
- 0mg/ml: no nicotine
- 3mg/ml to 6mg/ml: for an old consumption of fewer than 5 cigarettes/day
- 6mg/ml to 9mg/ml: for an old consumption between 5 and 10 cigarettes/day
- 9mg/ml to 12mg/ml: for an old consumption between 15 and 20 cigarettes/day
- More than 12mg/ml: for an old consumption higher than 20 cigarettes/day
In addition, nicotine salt can also be found in 10ml bottles. Nicotine salt allows you to vape at a high rate while experiencing a less intense throat hit.
50ml or more - Shortfill e-liquid
To provide larger sizes, manufacturers have developed shortfill versions of their e-liquids. These do not contain any nicotine. However, the bottles usually have enough space to add a 20mg/ml nicotine booster.
