Finding the right CBD dosage for your e-liquid

Similarly to traditional nicotined e-liquids, finding the right dosage when making your CBD e-liquid can be more difficult than expected, especially if you're starting out.

Vaping this type of liquid induces effects that can vary from one person to another, and that's why it's difficult to determine a precise dosage for your specific needs.

Whether it's your first time vaping CBD or you're a regular user, here's a bit of information to help you figure out which dosage will best suit your needs and equipment.

Our video tells you how to choose the right CBD content for your e-liquid !

The effect of CBD on your vaping habits

If you're vaping a CBD e-liquid, it's obviously because you want to enjoy the cannabidiol molecule's positive effects.

CBD is extracted from the hemp plant and has interesting therapeutic properties, especially when it's vaped, as it's biocompatible with e-liquids. These properties include anxiolytic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, as well as a positive impact on addictions, which makes it very useful for quitting smoking or getting rid of THC, for example.

CBD is a cannabinoid that acts on specific receptors throughout your body as soon as it's consumed. This creates a feeling of relaxation and well-being, and thus reduces stress.

We would like to remind you that, unlike THC, CBD doesn't have a psychoactive action and doesn't create any dependency among its users. Moreover, it cannot be used for medicinal purposes or replace any medical treatment.

The most important thing to remember is that CBD will have a very different impact on peoples' bodies. Some of you will be more susceptible to CBD than others, which is why it's so difficult to know in advance which dosage suits your specific needs.

Therefore, it's vital that you take your time and see how you react to the molecule's effects bit by bit, by trusting your feeling.

What dosages are available ?

As is the case for traditional e-liquids, CBD e-liquids are available in several dosages when you buy them. This dosage is expressed in mg / 10ml, though. To help you out, we've classed these dosages into 4 main categories:

  • Low CBD dosages: they're generally lower than 100mg / 10ml (or 10mg / ml) and will suit all vaping styles because of their low cannabidiol content. They can just as easily be vaped during short occasional sessions and longer sessions.
  • Medium CBD dosages are generally between 250 and 300mg / 10ml, depending on the brands. They're better suited to short and spaced-out 10-minute sessions, so as to make the most of the CBD's effects.
  • High CBD dosages: these e-liquids contain 500mg / 10ml, so their effect will be quite strong. We recommend you remain vigilant when vaping these liquids. They must be used occasionally and with care, during short sessions. We don't recommend you start with these high dosages.
  • Very high CBD dosages exceed 600 mg, and they can even go up to 1500 mg / 10ml, but they mustn't be vaped as they are. They must be used like boosters, meaning you have to dilute them into a base liquid before you vape them.

Adapting your dosage to your equipment

You may already know it, but CBD e-liquids aren't vaped in the same way as traditional nicotined liquids.

Thus, it can be a good idea to adapt your electronic cigarette to a CBD use. We recommend you dedicate an e-cigarette to this specific use and keep another one for the traditional e-liquids.

It's best to favour a low wattage when vaping CBD, in order to maximise its effects. Don't exceed 30 watts. Likewise, opt for an indirect inhale (Mouth-To-Lung vaping), using coils with a resistive value of about 1 ohm, so as to condense the flavours and not vaporise too much liquid every time you inhale.

Once you're properly equipped, it's quite easy to adjust your CBD dosage with your device. If you're just starting out and chose a low dosage, vape on a low power setting and gradually increase it over time until you find the perfect setting.

Conversely, for higher dosages (between 250 and 500mg / 10ml), we recommend you vape on a lower power setting, between 12 and 15 watts for example, and make sure to vape in short and spaced-out sessions.

A dosage suited to your use

As you can see, finding the right CBD ratio for your specific needs depends on several criteria. Obviously, the primary goal is to get the most out of your e-liquid.

As we mentioned earlier, it's important to test yourself and see how you react to the CBD molecule before searching for a precise dosage. Indeed, the effects will be different depending on your feeling. Therefore, it's a good idea to start with a low dosage and increase it bit by bit if you need to.

If you're thinking of consuming CBD daily, we recommend a CBD e-liquid with a low dosage (around 100mg / 10ml) in order to control its effects.

If you're going to use it occasionally, you can try a higher dosage and vape it during short sessions, being careful to wait for at least a dozen of minutes between each session.

Finally, if you're only rarely going to vape CBD, you can use a liquid with a high dosage (500mg / 10ml) over a short session to get the maximum effect.

We also remind you that dosages above 600mg / 10ml should not be consumed as they are, but rather diluted into a neutral base liquid. These liquids work like boosters, as they allow you to make a large amount of CBD e-liquid with the dosage of your choice, all whilst saving money.
