CBD e-liquids aren't vaped in the same way as traditional e-liquids. Indeed, the vaping frequency and the equipment you use, whether it's the electronic cigarette or the coil itself, will be completely different when vaping CBD liquids.
Because of the composition of CBD e-liquids and the effects cannabidiol have on your body, there are several habits you need to pick up to guarantee an optimal vaping experience and thus enjoy the full benefits of the cannabis' molecule.
As we're e-liquid and e-cigarette specialists, we've come up with a handy guide that lists all our tips and tricks for vaping CBD e-liquids the right way.
Which electronic cigarette can you use with CBD?
Just like for traditional nicotine e-liquids, the equipment you use plays an essential role in achieving a satisfying vaping experience.
Technically, you can use any electronic cigarette to vape CBD e-liquids. However, there are a few things to consider if you're looking to get the best possible experience.
Indeed, a CBD e-liquid is quite viscous and produces a significant hit (the muscle contraction you feel in your throat when inhaling the vapour), similar to e-liquids with high nicotine contents.
Therefore, we recommend you use your electronic cigarette at a low power and opt for an indirect inhale (tight Mouth-To-Lung draw) in order to get the best feeling.
Thus, if you're a vaper who wants a dedicated setup for CBD liquids, we recommend you use a podmod kit. This type of device was initially designed for beginner vapers, as they have very simple settings and a generally limited power. But, they're great for vaping CBD!
Another option if you own an electronic cigarette already and don't want to buy a whole new kit is to acquire a second clearomiser, which you will only use for CBD e-liquids, equipped with a coil whose resistive value is greater than 1 ohm. Use it at a low power and you'll be set for a great vaping experience.
Finally, we recommend you use a small tank, or at least not fill it up to the limit, to avoid clogging your coil too quickly. As we said earlier, CBD e-liquids are more viscous than the average e-liquids, and this little trick will keep your equipment working for longer.
At what power should you vape CBD e-liquids?
As we said before, a low power range is better for vaping CBD e-liquids and getting the most out of them.
This offers two advantages. First of all, you'll be able to control the throat hit and thus enjoy a smooth vape. Secondly, you'll be able to manage your e-liquid consumption with ease.
In reality, we recommend you set your electronic cigarette at a power level of 10 to 20 watts, with a coil of about 1 ohm.
Thus, you'll obtain a smooth vape with accurate flavours and a relatively tight inhale, enabling you to more easily control the throat hit. Therefore, these settings will allow you to make significant savings, whilst managing the consumption of the rather expensive CBD e-liquids.
When and how to vape CBD liquids
To vape CBD e-liquids is to change your vaping habits entirely! You won't be consuming CBD in the same way as you inhale traditional e-liquids, as the consumption and effects aren't the same.
CBD doesn't have the same effect on your body as nicotine does, notably because it takes longer to act.
Therefore, you need to adapt your vaping style accordingly. If traditional e-liquids can be inhaled all day long to fulfil your nicotine cravings, CBD can only be inhaled in short sessions, with 15 to 20 minutes between each session. This is because the CBD's benefits don't appear right away, it takes time for them to kick in.
In other words, it's important to go for short and spaced out sessions when vaping CBD e-liquids if you want to enjoy the molecule's full effects.
Also, if you're a smoker, know that a CBD e-liquid can help with your smoking withdrawal. Indeed, the hit it provides and its chemical action can help you get rid of your tobacco addiction.
Finally, remember to adjust the dosage according to your specific needs. Indeed, if you vape CBD for longer and still don't feel any effect, it might be necessary to adjust your liquid's CBD content.
We recommend you take your time to discover CBD e-liquids and find out which amount of CBD is best for you. This will allow you to better understand your needs and thus adapt the CBD content accordingly.
Can nicotine and CBD be used together?
It is possible to combine nicotine and CBD in a single e-liquid. However, there isn't any particular benefit in doing so, as the nicotine and cannabidiol molecules have a completely different effect.
Besides, mixing the two could actually cancel the effects of said molecules. Indeed, nicotine is a stimulant, and CBD has a soothing effect, so you'll understand that combining the two molecules is pretty useless. It's like if you took a sleeping pill whilst drinking a cup of coffee.
Therefore, to benefit from the full effect of CBD, it's better to consume it without any nicotine. It's also a good idea to wait a few hours between the intake of these two different substances, otherwise they'll counteract each other with their opposite effects.
Is CBD harmful for your health?
Cannabidiol is a molecule extracted from cannabis, and it has been studied by the scientific community for many years now. Obviously, CBD is not a psychoactive substance, unlike THC. It only has an anxiolytic effect and reduces stress. The user will not feel any dependency whatsoever.
However, there are a few cases where we advise against using CBD, notably if you're pregnant.
Likewise, we recommend that you avoid driving after vaping CBD, and you should stop consuming it if you're feeling sleepy.
Finally, we remind you that CBD is not a drug and cannot replace medical treatments, under any circumstances. If you have any questions, ask your doctor for more details.
