What you need to know before packing your vape
Hang on! Not so fast!
Are you all packed and ready to take off for a far-flung destination? Here are some advice to help you vape without any issues during your stay!
Local laws and airline regulations: two things to watch out for
Traveling requires a bit of organization, especially when you're flying.
On top of making sure you'll be able to enter the country with your e-cigarette and your e-liquid, you also need to check that the airline accepts your equipment in both checked and cabin luggage.
Most of the time, airlines refuse batteries in the hold and accept liquid transport up to 1L (warning: this includes all liquids you'll be taking with you) as long as it is packaged in 100ml maximum bottles stored in sealed bags.
Even so, check your airline's website: more and more airlines are refusing electronic cigarettes.
Check with your airline the authorized liquid capacity no matter the country you're heading
Differences between law and customs
Always be careful before using your e-cigarette in a foreign country: it's not because it is legal to vape, or illegal, that it would be welcomed among inhabitants and local law enforcement.
Be all the more cautious if you're going to a conflict-affected country and/or a state where the main religion is Islam. First, it is an electronic device with a battery which could cause problems at customs. Additionally, nicotine consumption goes against the principles of Islam, you could get into trouble by importing it into certain predominantly Muslim countries.
Conversely, here we've chosen to report only what the laws say. It may well be that, in reality, no one respects the prohibitions and that it's perfectly possible to vape on site. It's up to you to decide whether you prefer to obey the law or local customs!
Even if your destination allows vaping, be conscientious around inhabitants while you're vaping
Be cautious while restocking vape products abroad
Be very careful when you buy vape products abroad. In Europe, we're fortunate to be protected by legislation that bans the use of dangerous substances and imposes sanitary and safety standards for the production of e-liquids and vape equipment.
However, this is not necessarily the case in some countries where counterfeiting is common or where vape product ingredients and components are unsafe.
If you decide to buy abroad, be vigilant!
Don't travel with your vape if you're not over the age of majority
Currently, most countries around the world set the age of majority to 18. However, you could have trouble with forces of order if you are younger than 21 years old and you're vaping in the following countries: USA, Guam, Honduras, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Niue, Philippines, Indonesia.
